About the luxury of making one's own bread

Hidden right in the middle of town is the 300-year-old Pirchhütter flour mill. High time to heat it up again.

The mill was renovated in 1990 and can now be used again. You can find out how to make delicious bread every Tuesday (or Friday if the weather is bad on Tuesday) from 2 to 5 pm.

The mill is located within town. Just follow Seeplattenweg and pass by Imfong house. But be aware that not even Google Maps knows the exact location of the mill :-). The oven is heated up to 330 degrees centigrade, cleaned and then used for baking.

Unearthed from the archives

A video about Pirchhütter mill. I already made a video about the flour mill a couple of years ago with our friend and neighbour Hubert Kohler. The previous generation, so to speak.

Thank you, idealism

Many thanks go to Martin and Klaus, the farmers who have the 'small' farmers' market, and the Gurgl fire brigade which makes sure that all these traditions and devices stay alive. Congratulations!
